Cybersecurity-A Rising Trend
Cybersecurity—A Rising Trend
Securing data has become a key concern for businesses. With an abundant rise in cyber attacks and with more businesses relying on the digital workforce, there is a huge demand for cybersecurity. Executives, hiring managers, and IT risk managers around the world are in pursuit of professionals who have the skills to manage and eliminate cyber threats for their businesses. The possible damage, cost, and disruption of cyber attacks is not something most businesses can risk. However, the growing demand for cybersecurity experts outstrips the supply. Cybersecurity requires expertise, training, and constant learning in order to prevent and respond effectively to the evolving attacks. Businesses and IT professionals need to invest in the skills necessary to meet the growing demand for cybersecurity resources. The 2017 Global Information Security Workforce Study by the Center for Cyber Safety and Education and ISC revealed that more than 1.8 million cybersecurity professionals would be needed by 2022. As executives and business owners learn more about the intricate and constantly evolving world of cybersecurity, they get a better understanding of the needs and ROI that hiring cybersecurity talent offers.
Everything from electric road signs to suburban dams to emergency text and TV alert systems are targets for attacks. Industry experts are trying to raise awareness about the different kinds of attacks and the need for organizations to prioritize hiring cybersecurity experts and implementing more effective security measures. With the growing trend and need for cybersecurity professionals, merely being the best in terms of cybersecurity is ‘not enough,’ a person should have real in-depth working knowledge of other business systems as well.
